Like most people, I am feeling like the next year and a half is going to be made to feel even longer with the unrelenting presidential election coverage we are aready subject to.
However, 2008 Election is already way more fun than any other.
Social media has already changed the game for traditional media and marketers. Now we get to watch what it does to politics. The whole gist of politics is "staying on message" and being able to "control your message."
Guess what? That is completely impossible now. We have entered a new world of web 2.0. For the first time (in my life anyway) we are actually going to see candid politics, where everyone's gaffs will be recorded, uploaded and mashed up on YouTube and MySpace. Not edited by a pro at a news station, but by anyone with a computer.
Even more entertaining, we get to watch a bunch of old, definitely not hip politicians do their best to embrace it.
