What a historic day in the world of Presidential politics.
24 Hours.
Tens of thousands of Americans. Not corporations, individual Americans.
$4 Million Dollars raised.
Not pledged, but actually given. And things have not slowed down yet, though I am sure they will as we move into the night here on the West Coast.
It seems to me that a lot of people are just sick of the mess that comes out of DC from both parties. America wanted change and elected Bill Clinton in 92.
Wanted change and elected a Republican congress in 94.
Wanted change and elected Bush in 2000.
Wanted change and elected a Democratic Congress in 2006.
And still, many people feel that not much has changed. You have a bunch of adults pointing fingers and blaming each other for everything like they are in elementary school while at the same time abusing the Constitution the stripping away civil liberties.
So, people are sick of them all and are turning to someone whom you can believe every word that comes out of his mouth. Whose positions does not change with the audience he is talking to. Someone you have to respect, even if you do not agree with him on every issue. Someone who does not win you over with great speeches and a wonderful personality, (he's kinda boring sometimes) but with his passion and convictions.
Sure, Ron Paul is polling at 2% or something like that, but should anyone honestly believe that 2% of America gave this joker 4 Million Dollars in one day?
With the kind of money Ron Paul has in the bank, he is going to be around and on the ballot through all of the primaries, long after many others have thrown in the towel.
The race for the next President of the United States finally got interesting today.
That is impressive!
